Susan Wood fonds. 1974-1980.

The fonds consists of miscellaneous materials including correspondence (1974-1980), records arising from Wood's participation in the Pacific Northwest Review of Books, and copies of review articles (1977-1978). Also included is some material (predominantly printed) from 'Crossing Frontiers', a 1978 conference which brought together Canadian and American literary scholars, historians and writers to discuss comparative literature from the two 'wests'.

Susan Wood was born in Ottawa, Ontario and earned a B.A. (1969) and M.A. (1970) from Carlton University and a Ph.D. (1975) from the University of Toronto. She joined the Department of English at the University of British Columbia in 1975 and specialized in popular fiction. Wood became the Vancouver editor of the Pacific Northwest Review of Books which was established in 1977 and contributed numerous review articles for the publication.
